The Tontine Hotel was built in 1784. Erected by hard-headed Ironbridge shareholders, it is rich in character and of historic interest. It's position is directly opposite The Iron Bridge built by Abraham Darby in the 18th century. The hotel is one of the most haunted places in Shropshire.
The Feathers Hotel Ludlow
The Feathers Hotel in Ludlow is internationally recognised for its beautiful jacobean architecture and medieval heritage. Recently described in the New York Times, 'I dare say it is the most handsome Inn in the world.....everybody knows of it. It is one of the prime images of Olde England, portrayed in posters and brochures wherever tourism is known'Situated at the heart of the ancient market town of Ludlow, there are excellent craft and antique shops and a wealth of historic buildings, all with in easy walking distance. The Feathers 40 bedrooms include spacious and individual luxury suites, Four Poster Beds, Spa Baths and Fireplaces.
Wem Town Hall
The 19th of November 1995 saw a terrible fire which completely gutted Wem town hall in Northern Shropshire.

At the height of the blaze a local (Tony O'Rahilly) took this photograph using a 200mm lens from the road, and upon development discovered that it clearly shows a young girl, standing in the doorway of the town hall's fire escape.

It is believed that the figure is that of Jane Churm, who was alleged to have been linked to the starting of an earlier fire known as the Fire of Wem in 1677 which tore apart the town. She apparently did so unintentionally, by accidentally setting light to a thatched roof with a candle.

No one knows why she would be haunting the town hall, but some think it could be down to her guilt for starting the original fire.
Morton Corbett Castle.
Moton corbett is well off the beaten track. There are two structures here, one is a fortress (ruin).Built in the 1200, and the other of what remains an Elizebethan mansion house. Erected by the Corbetts in the sixteenth century.

Sir Vincent Corbett and his dragoons fought in the English civil war for the King. The two structures provided a natural garrrison.

In the early 15th century Mary Corbett lived in the castle. One of her known descendents is George W Bush, who became president of the United States.
